Gale Thorpe Scores Goal Of The Year…So Far

Checkout this highlight reel goal from this past weekends Tri-State National High School Lacrosse Championship (MLK Tournament) at the The Peddie School in Hightstown, NJ. Sweet Lax’s Gale Thorpe (son of Syracuse legend Regy Thorpe) scores between the legs against the Dukes Grey. To be more thorough, Thorpe posts up at GLE, wraps his stick one-handed behind his legs (a la John Grant Jr), whips it between his opponents legs and scores top shelf on the goalie. Not bad, not bad at all! This goal is definitely in consideration for goal of the year.

UPDATE: Cleaner, extended clip. Gale Thorpe plays HS lacrosse at Jordan Elbridge in upstate NY. He will play college lax at Syracuse next year. Video shot by Emmett Turco.

Hahaha…. Tom F. you have no clue what you are talking about. That defender did everything by the books…could not have been defended any better. Hence, why he took the shot through the legs. Rules for indoor are no body checks…looks like this kid almost put him on his butt without a body check. Not impressed. Indoor gives the attack an opportunity to be creative..no long poles, not body checks. Doubt he will be able to make this shot again out on the open field then its a whole different game. Luck shot….lucky goal.

Look at the defender on him, he’s half his size! I doubt the defender D1 recruit. His pushing is doing next to nothing to defend him. Also, they are using outdoor goals for indoor lacrosse. Nasty move, but I would like to see it done outdoors on a better defender.

Hey Tom F. what more should that defender have done? Just curious to see what your lax IQ is.
