NEW YORK — June 10, 2015 – Guardian Sports is proud to announce that Tomahawk Shades has come on-board as an official sponsor of the 2nd Annual Guardian National Championships. Tomahawk will be working closely with Guardian Sports to create a one-off unique custom shade design that will be exclusive to participants at the groundbreaking goalie combine and evaluation/recruiting-styled event on July 27-30.

“We are excited to be working Ginny and her team,” said Andrew Shapiro, CEO and Founder of Tomahawk Shades. “Guardian, the competing goalies and Tomahawk Shades all share something in common, our futures are so bright we need to wear shades! Why not a cool pair?”

The Guardian National Championship is the largest lacrosse goalie specific showcase that brings together elite high school goalies from across the country and gives them the stage to showcase their talents in front of numerous Division I, II and III college coaches. The goalies are evaluated in 16 goalie-specific tests in four key component areas; REACTIONARY, OFFENSIVE, ATHLETIC and VIRTUAL.

“We have always wanted to make our event memorable and go the extra yard for these talented young net minders,” remarked Ginny Capicchioni, Guardian Sports, Founder/CEO. “I hope every time they put on their Tomahawk Shades memories of our event will come rushing back and they will be reminded of their bright futures in lacrosse.”

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
