Lacrosse Evolution (LaxEvo) Announces Winter Clinics for 2011

King of Prussia, PA – December 8, 2010 – Lacrosse Evolution (LaxEvo), the Delaware Valley’s premier provider of lacrosse training, today announced its schedule of Winter clinics for its King of Prussia and Downingtown training facilities. Starting in January of 2011, lacrosse players will be able to fine tune their skills for the upcoming season in position specific clinics. Players in kindergarten through third grade will be able to learn the basics of lacrosse at one of LaxEvo’s new SKILLS (Starting Kids In Learning Lacrosse) programs. More advance players can take individual lessons with one of LaxEvo’s professional coaches/players to increase their lacrosse speed, agility and quickness or practice indoors with their team at either of LaxEvo’s climate controlled facilities.


“Lacrosse has become a year round sport and unfortunately Philadelphia is not sunny and 80 degrees year round,” said Tom Slate, the founder of Lacrosse Evolution and the defensive coordinator for the NLL’s Philadelphia Wings. “We take great pride in providing lacrosse players in the Philadelphia area with the best lacrosse instruction available and help them realize and achieve their goals.”

Face-off specialist Jay Motta, a two-time champion with the Philadelphia Barrage in Major League Lacrosse and an All-American at the University of Delaware, will be sharing his techniques and explaining the intricacies of winning face-offs at LaxEvo’s Downingtown and King of Prussia training centers beginning January 5th and running through February 6th. Chelsea Marshall, a standout lacrosse player at West Chester University and LaxEvo’s director of women’s lacrosse at its Downingtown training center, will be conducting a goalie school starting January 5th and concluding on February 9th at LaxEvo’s Downingtown and King of Prussia facilities. Brian “Doc” Dougherty, Team USA goalie and one of the most accomplished and recognizable goalies in the history of lacrosse will be sharing his years of experience between the pipes with aspiring net minders starting January 23rd and ending February 27th at LaxEvo’s King of Prussia training center.


In January of 2011, LaxEvo will launch its new SKILLs program (Starting Kids In Learning Lacrosse) to teach boys and girls in kindergarten through 3rd grade the basics of lacrosse at its Downingtown and King of Prussia facilities starting January 9th and running through February 13th. LaxEvo’s experienced staff of coaches will be working with kids on catching, throwing, shooting and most important of all, how to have fun.

LaxEvo’s full time staff includes Tom Slate, defensive coordinator for the NLL Philadelphia Wings; Ryan Cranston, former player for the MLL’s San Francisco Dragons and current LXMPro player; Dave Donovan, a C.S.C.S. certified strength and conditioning specialist; Chelsea Marshall, a former standout lacrosse player at Westchester University and Debbie Sloan, a two-time All CAA player of the year at the University of Delaware.
