LacrosseRecruits.com, US Lacrosse’s Official Service Provider for Recruiting, announced today the launch of LacrosseRecruits.com/news, a website focused on coverage of recruiting, high school and college lacrosse.
“I am excited about the launch of our new platform,” said LacrosseRecruits.com Co-Founder CHRIS MEADE. “We are excited to become a great new source for lacrosse coverage.”
To run the website, LacrosseRecruits.com has hired SPIKE MALANGONE. A 2009 graduate of Wesleyan University, Malangone was the 2009 DIII Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time All-American selection for the Cardinals. He also garnered USILA Academic All-American laurels as a senior and was a USILA North-South All-Star game participant.
“I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the game of lacrosse,” said Malangone. “It is a sport I have played and enjoyed my entire life, and I am honored to be able to contribute with the great team at LacrosseRecruits.com.”
Malangone spent the previous four years at the National Football League, working with their Communications and Media Relations group. He contributed to the NFL’s weekly football information releases for media, and worked on-site at large events including the Super Bowl, Conference Championship Games, NFL International Series in London, NFL Draft and NFL Scouting Combine.
“We are excited to bring Spike on board,” added Meade. “His experience in both the lacrosse world as well as at the NFL made him an ideal candidate for us.”
The website will focus on recruiting coverage, including video and written recaps of summer tournaments and showcases. It will also feature high school and collegiate game coverage, interviews with leaders in the lacrosse community and a variety of other content.
“It is our goal to add to the coverage of lacrosse in a legitimate fashion,” said Malangone. “The game is growing so rapidly, especially at the youth and high school levels. With this growth comes an appetite for more coverage, and it is a privilege to be able to add to that with this outlet.”
