Matt D’Angelo Hired As Assistant Coach

Rohnert Park, CA – Sonoma State Men’s Lacrosse has announced Matt D’Angelo as Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach. Sonoma State finished second in the WCLL this past year and seventh in the final Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association Coach’s Poll.

“Shortly after taking on the responsibility of Head Coach I reached out to Matt to discuss joining us in 2014” stated Panchito Ojeda. He continued, “Matt was an excellent player at Sonoma and did a great job at Cardinal Newman last year. His knowledge of the game and commitment to Sonoma made him the right choice. He is going to have a big impact on Sonoma this year!”

I am excited to be working with a great group of young men and coaches,” said D’Angelo. He continued, “I think I can help get Sonoma to the top.”

D’Angelo will be joining the Seawolves to be the Goalies as well as Strength & Conditioning Coach in addition to other duties. D’Angelo played for Sonoma State from 2008-2012. He was a captain in 2012 and received MCLA Scholar Athlete as well as 2nd Team All-WCLL. Last year he was the Offensive Coordinator at Cardinal Newman HS in Santa Rosa leading the team to a successful 2013 campaign in which the team qualified for NCIF playoffs.
