Maverik Lacrosse Signs Stevenson University to Three-Year Deal

“We are pleased to team up with Maverik Lacrosse for our protective gear for the next three seasons. We know that Maverik equipment is designed and developed by many of the game’s top lacrosse players for lacrosse players. They are an innovative company that is developing innovative products and we like to think that our lacrosse program at Stevenson University is also on the cutting edge,” said head coach Paul Cantabene.

Long Island City, NY, October 29, 2010 — Maverik Lacrosse today announced it has signed a three-year agreement with Stevenson University men’s lacrosse team to supply the Mustangs with custom branded equipment through the 2013 season.

Stevenson, who won the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) championship in 2010 and advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinal game, will be outfitted with custom Maverik Maybach gloves and team branded Monster travel bags.

We know that Maverik equipment is designed and developed by many of the game’s top lacrosse players for lacrosse players. They are an innovative company that is developing innovative products and we like to think that our lacrosse program at Stevenson University is also on the cutting edge,” said head coach Paul Cantabene.

In six seasons under coach Cantabene, Stevenson has posted a 79-27 record, played in five Capital Athletic Conference championship games, and made two NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship appearances. During the past two seasons, the Mustangs achieved a final ranking of No. 1 in the USILA Division III poll. Furthermore, Stevenson has had 17 All-America selections over the last three seasons, including four first team honorees and the 2009 and 2010 Division III Attackman of the Year.

“Paul has done an outstanding job since taking over at Stevenson. His winning record is no doubt a result of his ability to teach players and instill in them the same work ethic that made him such a dominant player at Loyola as well as the MLL, NLL and Team USA. We are looking forward to working with Coach Cantabene and giving his team what they need for continued success,” said John Gagliardi, President of Maverik Lacrosse.
