Maverik Showtime Lacrosse Announces Registration for 2014 Girls National Recruiting Spotlight

NEW YORK – Maverik Showtime Lacrosse is pleased to announce the second annual Showtime Lacrosse Girls National Recruiting Spotlight, featuring some of the country’s best Class of 2017 and Class of 2016 players. The invitation only event will take place from June 30th to July 3rd, 2014 at Western Connecticut State University, in Danbury, Connecticut.

For 2014, Maverik Showtime has raised the bar in recruiting tournaments with the addition of Tracy Weiner-Provenz and Carol Rose to the Board of Directors. “Tracy and Carol bring a wealth of knowledge and experience,” said Joe Ceglia, an event co-founder. “Their deep ties to the college lacrosse community and their commitment to the sport will enhance the event for the players, as well as the college coaches in attendance.”

The Girls National Recruiting Spotlight will continue to use the game only format, which allows players to be evaluated based on their abilities as individuals and as members of a team. This format has attracted many of the top women’s programs as the event aims to replicate the success of its brother event Boys Showtime. In addition to the on-field coaching by top NCAA Division I, II, and III coaches, players will hear from select guest speakers on topics including sports psychology and strength and conditioning.

The Maverik Showtime Lacrosse — “National Recruiting Spotlight” is the brainchild of Paul Carcaterra, Joe Ceglia, and Mike Springer who all achieved All-American and National Championship careers at Syracuse University. Paul, Joe, and Michael have teamed up with Aly Josephs, a three-time National Champion and All-American at Northwestern University, to create this premier recruiting event. All of Showtime’s directors have stayed immersed in the game of lacrosse as coaches at the high school and collegiate ranks, nationally recognized camp directors, broadcasters, and professional lacrosse players.
