Saturday the Terps knocked off the Cavaliers led by senior Ryan Young who came away with six points. The Terps also had a strong showing on the defensive side of the ball. Defenders Ryder Bohlander, Brett Schmidt, Max Schmidt and Niko Amato held UVA to just seven goals and played aggressive all day.
Below is a video of Max Schmidt clearing the crease! He ends up wiping out middie Colin Briggs. Ultimately, two flags were thrown and UVA went two men-up.

Second hit looked clean, UVA guys head was down
the first one wasn’t clean it was a hit to the back but i feel like the second one shouldn’t have been called a flag

they both looked clean these god damn refs are protecting the players too much its getting ridiculous its over kill Jesus Christ as a defense man this kinda pisses me off i mean seriously why did theyeven put this rule in i mean we have new technology to prevent concussions (the 7 liner system) and i mean it doesnt even seem like kids were getting too many concusions/bighits until now i mean evry once and a wile kids got blown up but seriously its nbd im pissed
I think it was a clean hit. It was a little high but I don’t think he got it in the head. I def agree Maryland’s defense got real angry towards the end.
looked clean. Looks like Maryland’s D got mad saturday

Penalty because it was a blow to the head. Legal hit or not, anything to the head this year will result, in the very least, as a 1 min penalty. If it is deemed an illegal body check then it will be at least a 1 min non releasable. That is how it was explained to me and my coaching staff this year.

hands were together quite nicely, and the hit was clean…until he extended his hands out.
