MoGo Sport Orange Flavored Mouthguard Review

Yep it’s official I’m doing a review on a mouthguard, as a men’s league player where it’s not required but definitely a great idea. Well for all you younger players you should always wear a mouth guard it’s the best thing to protect you from a concussion and yeah they are nasty, uncomfortable, and you have to mold them….until now for the most part. MOGO has changed the game with their flavored mouthguards, but please seriously guys mold it for your safety. Concussions are no joke.

I’ve worn many mouth guards over the years playing football, hockey, lacrosse, martial arts you name it I’ve tried a lot of sports. I have had many competitor’s mouth guards even a custom one made by my orthodontist (which I chewed through like every other one) they all had some level of discomfort or tasted like old plastic. When I tried this MOGO mouthguard I figured same old same old and man was I wrong the taste is light but enjoyable and the fit is unbelievable.

Fit Rating 8 out of 10. Yes this is the best fitting mouthguard I’ve ever worn but at the same time it’s a little long for me and I am still getting used to it. The mouth guard actually has risers in the molar area and a guard across the bottom teeth allowing easy breathing and speaking. It seemed tight before I molded it but it widened out and fit my teeth perfectly with some hot water. This mouth guard doesn’t ride high into the gums like some of the newer mouth guards out either so no worries there when taking a big hit. So yes there is some preference on length but I’m sure it’s there for my safety so I can’t say it is really a bad thing.

Flavor 10 out of 10. The guys at the office know me all too well. I love orange flavored anything basically. This being said last year’s model was a little strong at first then whittled off into a used chewing gum flavor after awhile. My method of testing here, wear this thing non-stop for 15 minutes straight while chewing on it. The flavor is still awesome. It’s still perfectly orange, not suffocatingly so, but just enough to make you WANT to wear your mouth guard and their new flavors this year.

Durability 9 out of 10. Yes this is an important factor when it comes to mouth guards with all the mouth guards I’ve owned the longest lasting two have been a TAPOUT and a $1 generic mouth guard I wore in college. They both didn’t make it through a season. I chew a lot on them like a lot of laxers do and it ruins them. I feel very strongly this mouth guard is going to last a very long time. I have been chewing during my flavor test and no teeth marks are visible. It feels super sturdy, but not like a rock overall which is very nice.

Overall, this mouth guard rates a 9 out of 10 for me. I really like this mouth guard and will be wearing it Sunday in my indoor game. For those of you looking for a solid guard for the season I really do recommend a MOGO in your flavor of choice, make sure to mold it though guys they are meant to be molded and work best that way.
