Nexus Lacrosse and One World Lacrosse Announce Partnership

Nexus Lacrosse is pleased to announce an official partnership with One World Lacrosse (OWL), a non-profit organization which provides youth in impoverished communities around the world with an opportunity to improve their quality of life through the game of lacrosse.

The partnership between Nexus and OWL is one built out of mutual respect for the game of lacrosse and a similar vision regarding its role in today’s world lacrosse community. Both organizations value the service and outreach components of lacrosse’s growth, and feel that it is important to give back to the game. The partnership is one that will improve the outreach capabilities of both Nexus and OWL, inevitably fulfilling the mission of each organization.

“One World Lacrosse and Nexus share a passion for sharing the game that we all love. With this new partnership, Nexus is continuing their emphasis on people, planet, as well as profits. I couldn’t be more excited for this chance for premier players to help us grow the game in under-served communities,” said Kevin Gallagher, Founder and Executive Director of One World Lacrosse.

About One World Lacrosse
One World Lacrosse Foundation is a non-profit organization which provides youth in impoverished communities around the world an opportunity to improve their quality of life through the game of lacrosse. We visit these communities not only as teachers, but as students of culture as well. Our aim is to bring the great game of lacrosse to these areas and assist in building communities and global citizens.

How this is done:
-Lacrosse equipment is brought to the community.
-We spend the following weeks meeting with the kids every day, showing them the basic skills and rules of lacrosse.
-We make ourselves available to the community to help with any building, fixing, and teaching they might need.
-Most importantly, we encourage the kids to teach us their culture, and what they do for fun.

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
