Project 9.9’s Second Annual Event Set to Launch on October 12th

Project 9.9 is thrilled to announce the final roster for the second annual event this October 12, 13 and 14th. The top recruited players have applied and been invited from all over the USA and Canada. Of the 55 players on the roster, 16 different states will be represented at the event. An astounding figure, displaying Project 9.9’s role is expansion from the 6 states that were represented of the 50 players in the Inaugural Event.

Coaches for Project 9.9 will be made up of some familiar and new pros of the MLL and US Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Directing the defensive unit will be Patrick McCabe, USL Hall of Fame member, ’98 and ’06 World Team defender, Syracuse 4x All-American and ’90 Schmeisser award winner. McCabe will be supported by Greg Bice, MLL All-Star and two-time All-American at Ohio State. Leading the goalies will be Scott Rodgers, Ohio Machine goalie, 2x All American at Notre Dame, and 2010 NCAA Tournament MVP. In support of Rodgers will be former 3x All-American from Loyola University and Chesapeake Bayhawk, Tim McGeeney. Working with both the attack and midfield groups will be Ben Rubeor of the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Stephen Berger of the Boston Cannons. Rubeor was a 3x All-American at UVA, 2x MLL Champion and 2012 MLL Championship Weekend MVP. Berger, consider the best MLL player to arrive from the Division III ranks, will provide insight, grit and determination to the players, attributing these characteristics to his successes. Jay Dyer, ofUnion Memorial Sports and Medicine, will head up all strength & conditioning activity for each player. Rabil and Millon will be the directors of the Midfield and Attack groups, as well as overseeing the scope of the event.

Project 9.9 would like to thank all of their corporate sponsors, starting with the official equipment and apparel partner of the event, Warrior Sports. Lacrosse.com is the presenting sponsor of the MVP awards at the end of the event, going to the top attackman, midfielder, defender and goalie. Lacrosse.com will also support each player with a unique Project 9.9 gift card to explore the current retail market offerings. Josh Lane Productions will be filming this year’s event, allowing our viewers the access to each participant’s first-class experience supported by Eyre Transportation, the Mid-Atlantic’s leader in coach bus services, the Hunt Valley Crowne Plaza, HeadWrapz decals and product kits, Motive Pure’s hydration science, and St. Paul’s Facilities in Baltimore, MD.

About Project 9.9
Project 9.9 was co-founded by Paul Rabil and Mark Millon to bring top-level instruction to a training camp forum in a professional atmosphere. The top recruits in the country are invited, with spots on the roster reserved for an intuitive application process online. Players compete and work with current and former professional and Hall of Fame lacrosse players, while coaches evaluate their technical skill and physical conditioning, distribute high-level playbook and film study, test for improvement throughout camp, and finish with positional rankings to be released to the public.

For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling.
