Paying particular attention to the underrepresented communities in the sport, the Sankofa Lacrosse Alliance aims to foster and expand diversity and inclusion within lacrosse, in an effort to open doors of opportunity for young people beyond the lines of the lacrosse field. Sankofa in translation means that “it is not taboo to go back and fetch what we have forgotten,” symbolizing the idea that in order to move forward, and for the sake of future generations, we must acknowledge the people that came before us, and the sacrifices made by those people to open doors for us. All proceeds benefit Sankofa Alliance.
