BALTIMORE, Md. – Steele Stanwick found Colin Briggs in front of the crease to lift the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (7-0) to a 9-8 overtime win over the No. 3 Cornell Big Red (3-1) in front of 17,138 fans inside M&T Bank Stadium at Saturday’s Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic. Ryan Benincasa Lifts No. 1 UVa Over No. 3 Syracuse, 14-10

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Colin Briggs scored three goals and assisted another to help the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (5-0) top the No. 3 Syracuse Orange (2-1) on Sunday evening, 14-10, in front of 5,855 fans inside Klöckner Stadium. UVa now owns a 15-13 record all-time against the Orange and the four-goal win serves as the largest margin of victory by either team in the series since the Cavaliers won 17-10 in the 2006 NCAA Semifinal round. Virginia’s Rob Emery Rips Game Winner Over Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Rob Emery took a Colin Briggs pass and ripped it for the game’s final goal with 4:48 left in the contest, lifting the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (1-0) to a season-opening triumph over the No. 20 Drexel Dragons (0-1) on Saturday afternoon, 9-8. Just over three minutes prior, Bobby Hill tallied his first collegiate goal to tie the game, 8-8, in front of an over-capacity crowd of 2,331 inside Vidas Field. University of Maryland Defenseman Max Schmidt Clears the Crease

Saturday the Terps knocked off the Cavaliers led by senior Ryan Young who came away with six points. The Terps also had a strong showing on the defensive side of the ball.
