Shootout for Soldiers, 24 Hour Lacrosse Game to Benefit Wounded Warrior Project

A group of local, high school students has organized what stands to be a world-record breaking event called Shootout for Soldiers. The Shootout is a 24-hour lacrosse game with all proceeds going to support the Wounded Warrior Project in its effort to aid wounded US soldiers. The event, which will be held at The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland on June 14-15th, will seek to use the common platform of lacrosse to unite local area lacrosse players ages 10+ in the common benefit of the Wounded Warrior Project. The Men of Harvard Lacrosse is a short documentary film about the Harvard Men's Lacrosse Team. The short doc features the strenuous schedule of a Harvard lacrosse player. Through all of the training, studying, and travel, the men learn to overcome adversity and excel at the highest level. The biggest thing to take away from the short doc, which captures a lot of the team's hard work, is their will to persevere. Nothing is taken for granted. Rivalry Games Assists The Goal, Scoring $40,000 for HEADstrong Foundation

Holmes, PA- The forecast this weekend was very fitting for the HEADstrong Foundation’s 3rd Annual Rivalry Games. On Saturday April 7, 2012 droves of HEADstrong supporters and lacrosse fans descended on Widener University’s athletic complex to be apart of what has become an annual Easter Saturday tradition in Delaware County. This year’s Rivalry Games drew record attendance generating over $40,000 for the HEADstrong Foundation and their relentless pursuit of defeating blood cancer, bringing the fundraising total to over $190,000 since its inception in 2010. Spreading the Gospel of Lacrosse this Easter Season

It's no surprise that two Catholic schools would collaborate on spreading the gospel of lacrosse at the end of the Easter season. Providence College was scheduled to play Big East Conference foe Notre Dame on Saturday April 7. At a coaches convention in December, Friars coach Chris Burdick spoke with Drew Stevenson, an assistant coach at Brother Rice High School, when Burdick wondered if Providence needed a practice facility to use.
