In THSLL semi-final play in Georgetown, TX today, the North District #2 seed St. Mark’s Lions relied upon suffocating defensive pressure in tandem with poise in the offensive zone to eliminate South District #1 seed Houston Christian High School by a 10-3 score. Lions’ junior attackman Andrew Graffy led all scorers with 2 goals and 2 assists, and St. Mark’s senior middie Nick Mahowald controlled play at the X with 6 GBs and scored a season-high two goals in support of the win. Despite entering the Southwest Prep Conference playoffs this weekend as the #1 seed from the SPC North Division, the defending champion St. Mark’s Lions were handed every excuse they could need to rationalize a possible loss this weekend.
