With a school-record crowd of 6,289 in attendance, No. 7 Villanova (7-2, 0-1 BIG EAST) played their best defensive game of the season despite falling in their first BIG EAST matchup of the year against the Orange.
Stephen Keogh (Toronto, Ontario) scored with 2:19 left to play in overtime to lift No. 1 Syracuse (4-0, 1-0) to a 9-8 victory over Georgetown (2-3, 1-1) at the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic at M&T Bank Stadium. The goal was Keogh's fourth of the day.
Redshirt junior Tim Desko (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored a career-best five goals to lead top-ranked Syracuse (3-0) to a 12-10 victory over co-No. 1 Virginia (4-1) at the Carrier Dome on Friday, March 4. Desko scored three of Syracuse’s five second-half goals to propel the Orange to its first regular-season win against the Cavaliers since 2004.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference selected senior goalie John Galloway of the men’s lacrosse team as Syracuse University’s male recipient of the 2010-11 American Eagle Outfitters BIG EAST Institutional Scholar-Athlete Award on Tuesday, Feb. 8. Galloway was one of 16 male honorees recognized by the conference, one from each member school. He will receive $2,000 toward graduate studies.
The Syracuse alums wore Flow Society Argyle shorts this past weekend when they faced the current 'Cuse team in the Orange Alumni Classic. The shorts are Orange/Navy and mesh well with the jerseys.
