Texas Men’s Lacrosse Player Blog, DOGFIGHT

The 2012 season is here and we wanted to work closely with college programs to bring a part of the excitement to you. Throughout the 2012 season we will highlight lacrosse programs on our space for all of our readers to follow. Player blogs serve as a unique outlet for programs to showcase their season as it develops, plus highlight everything they have to offer a student-athlete. In contrast, families and fans get a glimpse into the program’s athletic and academic regimen.

Texas’s Equipment and Apparel

Amigos,

Glad to send out the first of many blog posts from the University of Texas Division 1 (Club) Lacrosse team! We just had a huge weekend. Between having the biggest win in the team’s history, beating #2 ranked Arizona State in a straight up DOGFIGHT 4-3 in New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl Lacrosse game, being guaranteed an invitation back for next year, and having one hell of a time in the hours following the win, we could not have asked for anything better.

In the game, sophomore mid Josh Franics tore it up and won MVP with 2 goals (one being the dopeness, rattling the keep’s cage from 12 yards out then going right in), and sophomore goalie Jordan Lee was pretty much stonewall coming up with some NICE stops. Defense played outrageous. We were livin’ the D1 (Club) lacrosse player’s dream all night, team bonding in the Big Easy.

The night will be remembered. Big weekend this upcoming weekend, with a game Friday vs Loyola Marymount then LSU Saturday. Back-to-backs might prove tough, but to be perfectly honest the Laxhorns are a bunch of tough guys, so as much as our endurance will be tested, we’re gunning for two wins. Just got our team bags this past Friday and our team cleats are coming in this week. Look good feel good feel good play good. Keep it real— from your boys in Texas.

Adios!

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
