The Team Jesse Foundation Announces Partnership with Booth Lacrosse

On July 29th, 2011, in Sonoma County CA, Booth Lacrosse- www.boothlacrosse.com -and The Team Jesse Foundation- www.teamjesse.org -will team up to field two lacrosse teams for the Adrenaline Youth Lacrosse Shootout. According to Adrenaline Lacrosse, The 10th annual tournament “represents the best 5th & 6th grade and 7th & 8th grade players from the top regions in the West”.

The mission of Booth Lacrosse is to provide an exciting and fun environment for players to reach their maximum potential and become more confident and skillful lacrosse players. Booth Lacrosse is a first class organization both on and off the field and treats each player with dignity and respect while focusing on developing lacrosse players who are passionate about the game.

Founded and run by Tim Booth, the former Hobart College lacrosse standout and professional player in both the MLL and NLL has taken his passion for the game and created a fundamental lacrosse teaching environment that offers camps, clinics and individual lessons to players in the San Francisco Bay area. While taking his players lacrosse skills to the next level on the field is a priority of Booth Lacrosse, so is teaching each player to do the right thing off the field.

That is why Tim decide to approach The Team Jesse Foundation to partner with in the Adrenaline Shootout. Team Jesse is an IRS recognized non-profit organization whose mission is To Provide Education and Support to Families of the Fallen in Honor of SSG Jesse Williams, who gave his life in service to this country on April 8, 2007 while conducting combat operations in Iraq. Team Jesse raises money through lacrosse focused events and through The Ride- www.teamjesse.org/ride. This 95-day, 4,200 mile journey began at the grave site of SSG Jesse Williams in Santa Rosa, CA and will end at Ground Zero in Manhattan, NY where Team Jesse Foundation co-Founder Kevin Mincio stood on 9.11.01 as a Vice President at Goldman Sachs before enlisting in the Army to defend our freedom.

Having played with a Team Jesse men’s club team in previous events, Tim was inspired to partner with the Foundation to bring a message of service to his players. “Kevin Mincio and I met Tim through the game of lacrosse and we’re proud to have his youth team’s representing Team Jesse. I know his passion for the game will be instilled in his kids and I know they are inspired by his teaching” said Team Jesse Foundation co-Founder Matt Corry. “Tim has asked each of his players and their families to get involved in sharing our story and we’re excited to see how they embrace the cause” Matt added.

As Booth’s 5th & 6th grade and 7th & 8th grade teams took shape with players joining from around the Bay area, including San Jose, East Bay, Marin and Napa, Tim has challenged his players to learn the history behind Team Jesse and to individually raise money and awareness for the mission to help families of fallen soldiers. As Tim recently stated, “I wanted players that are willing and ready to represent something bigger then themselves in The Team Jesse Foundation. After this tournament, I hope that Team Jesse will become a household name for Bay area lacrosse families”.

In representing Team Jesse, Booth’s teams will be sporting these custom designed LacrosseWear uniforms that were inspired by the cycling jerseys being worn by Kevin Mincio and friend, entrepreneur and philanthropist Matt Sauri on The Ride. “Thanks to the continued support of Ryan and Bo at LacrosseWear, Team Jesse will be looking sharp while playing lacrosse and raising awareness for our mission” said Corry.

Additionally, South Swell Sports- http://www.southswellsports.com/lacrosse-sticks/attack-and-middie-shafts/1-lacrosse-custom-team-jesse-lacrosse-shaft -will be selling these custom designed Team Jesse shafts from 1Lacrosse- http://www.1lacrosse.com/mens-shafts/limited-edition as a way to raise additional money and awareness for Team Jesse. “Please visit South Swell online and pick up an outstanding product from a generous supporter in 1Lacrosse and feel good in knowing you are helping to raise money for the Team Jesse mission as well” said Matt.
