The Top 5 “How To Pinch” Instructional Videos

Every lacrosse enthusiast and connoisseur knows how important it is to have the right equipment. A good deal goes in to what you use on game day: form, function, strength, resistance, flexibility, aesthetics. In this case a head is a big determiner of how you’ll pass, catch, shoot, control and retain the ball.

Pinching a head is, in a way, a rite of passage. Almost everyone has pinched a head in their lifetime with only a few mastering it. You’ve tried it in the oven, in the freezer, between your knees, but what really is the best way to pinch your head? Is it best to pinch when it’s strung or unstrung? Well, today LPG has collected the top 5 instructional videos to learn from about pinching your head.

This is a good one for beginners. It shows the basics of tying a nylon around both sidewalls with a tight squeeze to the width at which you want your head pinched.

4.

This made the list because it exemplifies the reason why we pinch our heads on our own. You don’t have a stranger do it for you. Only you know how you want your head pinched at a certain sweet spot on your head. The only way to master it is to go through the steps on your own like a math equation.

3.

Ask yourself why. Why are you pinching your wand? If you just want to pinch it for the heck of it then you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Do some soul searching and figure out why you want to narrow your head. Maybe you want it wide at the top. Just examine it fully before you ruin your head.

2.

We liked this one for the innovative techniques practiced in the video. Using a blow dryer is clever, safer and more hands on than say an oven.

1.

This is our number 1 because it is a very straight forward video that does not rush through any of the steps. It is well thought out and orchestrated well to the point that the head he pinched actually looks playable unlike others we’ve evaluated.
