Top Student Athletes To Compete In NYC Mayor’s Cup Lacrosse All-Star Games

New York City (May 27, 2014) — New York City’s top high school senior boys and girls lacrosse players from the City’s public (PSAL), Catholic (CHSAA) and independent high schools will compete for the title of “Best in the City” at the 2014 NYC Mayor’s Cup Lacrosse All-Star Games on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1. The girls and boys championship games will take place on Sunday at 1pm and 3pm, respectively. All games will be played at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, and admission is free.

The NYC Mayor’s Cup will feature six NCAA Division I signees, including Mike Orefice (Fordham Prep/Loyola University Maryland), Joe DeLasho (Fordham Prep/Fairfield University), Brandon Standard (Iona Prep/Hofstra University), Jack Korzelius (Iona Prep/Dartmouth College), Liam O’Donnell (Archbishop Stepinac/Catholic University) and Stefanie Frolo (Hackley/Binghamton University).

NYC Mayor’s Cup All-Star Games that will take place in June include: baseball on June 13; softball on June 14; and cricket on June 21.

The NYC Mayor’s Cup Series is produced by NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization. The series showcases student athletes of all ages from across the five boroughs as they compete to prove they are New York City’s best in ten different sports throughout the school year.
