University of Rhode Island’s Men’s Club Lacrosse Team Is Looking To Hire A New Head Coach


The University of Rhode Island’s Men’s Club Lacrosse team, an MCLA Division I program and member of the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League, is seeking applicants for the position of Head Coach.

Primary responsibilities of this position include the following:

>Schedule and coordinate all events including practices, games, team meetings, and
fundraisers (with input from the team)

>Attend all games (home and away) in a coaching and supervisory capacity

>Attend practices after 3:00 PM on the weekdays and games on the weekend during the academic year, as well as the team’s annual spring trip

>Be in direct communication with the student athletes pertaining to all team matters

>Scouting and game plan preparation

>Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes interested in URI Men’s Lacrosse

>The ability to work with and within Club Sports administration

>Assist the Team Captains and the Coordinator of Club Sports with game scheduling, set-up all team travel logistics for the season, and equipment purchases

>Help oversee equipment distribution, return and storage

>Adhere to all National Governing Body policies and procedures

>Assist with the formulation of the annual Men’s Lacrosse team budget in accordance with the timetable and guidelines set by the Coordinator of Club Sports and the URI Student Senate

>In cooperation with Coordinator of Club Sports, maintain and update the Alumni mailing list on an annual basis

>Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is preferred

>Strong background in offensive and/or defensive strategies

Salary range: $5,000-$8,000. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Preferred Start Date: August 26, 2012
