Warrior Introduces Special Edition Cleat For Mother’s Day

BOSTON, MA, May 9, 2012 – Warrior will introduce a special edition pink lacrosse cleat for Mother’s Day. The special edition cleat was developed as a way for Major League Lacrosse players to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer and to show support for those affected by breast cancer. All MLL athletes in the Warrior and Brine Players Club, as well as the Denver University and Princeton University lacrosse teams, will sport the pink cleat during Mother’s Day weekend.

“My mother is a breast cancer survivor and the most important person in my life, so wearing this cleat is a way for me to show my gratitude for all she has done for me,” says Andrew “Buggs” Combs, The Ohio Machine. “I look forward to wearing this cleat as a show of support for my mother and everyone who has been touched by breast cancer.”

Additionally, Warrior will donate $5,000 to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Mobile Mammography Van.

The cleats can be purchased now at www.shopwarrior.com and select retailers across the U.S. and will retail for $90.00.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
