MIT Lacrosse Player Trades Stick for Coronary Stent Research…Gibson, 22, who was a Rhodes Scholarship finalist, is completing his undergraduate degree in biological engineering while preparing for the start of lacrosse season. Andrew McIntosh, captain of the Oneonta University lacrosse team in New York state, wrote about his coming out process in a moving piece for Outsports. His story touched a lot people and McIntosh has been deluged with e-mail from athletes, coaches and fans. His local paper, the Oneata Daily Star, has published a story and finds that reaction on campus is also positive. More…

Kelly announced last night that the 10-year-old Major League Lacrosse organization would henceforth be known as the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Kelly, who recently received formal approval from the MLL to become owner and president of the Bayhawks, said the name change was consistent with the team’s efforts to build a regional fan base.
