Adidas Signs Notre Dame Lacrosse

Notre Dame, IN. – adidas, a global leader in the sporting goods industry, has signed on as the official equipment and apparel supplier with the Notre Dame Men’s Lacrosse team. The Fighting Irish will take the field using the latest adidas Lacrosse sticks, handles and protective equipment and custom Notre Dame uniforms as part of the agreement.

“Notre Dame University has a rich history as an elite lacrosse program and Kevin Corrigan has been the key architect,” said George Parks, Director of Lacrosse at adidas Lacrosse. “He is a dynamic coach whose core values are aligned with both the university and adidas. We are extremely excited in having the opportunity to work with the young men from Notre Dame men’s lacrosse.”

The Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team made a tremendous run to the title game of the 2010 NCAA Championship by defeating No. 6 Princeton (8-5), No. 3 Maryland (7-5) and No. 7 Cornell (12-7). The journey ended with a 6-5 overtime loss to No. 5 Duke at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. The 2010 NCAA Championship was the first national title game appearance in Notre Dame’s history.

Goalie Scott Rodgers was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, while his teammates Zach Brenneman (M) and Kevin Ridgway (D) joined him on the NCAA all-tournament team. That trio was among five Notre Dame players that received All-America honors for the 2010 campaign. Midfielders Grant Krebs and David Earl also garnered All-America accolades.

Notre Dame allowed just 23 goals (5.75 per game) during its four NCAA Tournament games. The Fighting Irish boasted the nation’s second-best scoring defense during the 2010 campaign by surrendering just 7.53 goals per game. Rodgers led the nation in save percentage (.605) and ranked third in goals-against average (7.56).

“We are thrilled to be bringing all our footwear, lacrosse equipment and athletic apparel needs under the same roof with adidas” said Corrigan. “Our experience with their shoes and athletic wear has been tremendous and we look forward to enjoying the same level of quality and commitment with their lacrosse equipment.”
