Philadelphia, PA – October 3, 2013 – The American Indoor Lacrosse Association (AILA) today announced that it would hold two Philadelphia-area regional qualifying events for the inaugural IMG Nationals Indoor Championship.  The first event will take place on Saturday October 26th at the Bucksmont Sports Center in Hatfield, PA, followed by a second qualifier on Saturday, October 27th at the Junge Pavilion in Bryn Athyn, PA.  U15, U17 and U19 indoor lacrosse teams from the greater Philadelphia area will be going head-to-head to determine which team will move on to the IMG Nationals Indoor Championship in Philadelphia, PA, on Jan. 10 – 12.

“Box lacrosse has become a staple in the offseason for lacrosse players in our area and has become very popular,” said Joe Karpinski, Director of Operations. “We are excited to give teams the opportunity to compete at a high level while also calling attention to the vast amount of lacrosse talent that comes out of Philly every year.”

The IMG Indoor Nationals will take place in conjunction with the 2014 U.S. Lacrosse National Convention and the Philadelphia Wings opening game of the 2014 National Lacrosse  League professional indoor lacrosse season.

“We are excited to give players the opportunity and the platform to develop and showcase their indoor lacrosse talent,” said Johnny Mouradian, General Manager of the Philadelphia Wings and the founder of the American Indoor Lacrosse Association.  “Competition definitely breeds success.  Our long-term goal is to generate a greater level of youth involvement playing indoor lacrosse providing field lacrosse players the opportunity to compete and develop a special skill set that will enhance their game and lacrosse IQ.”
