DU sophomore Goalie Ryan LaPlante Scores Coast-to-Coast Goal Against Maryland (Video)

On October 13th, the University of Denver men’s lacrosse team beat the University of Maryland lacrosse team 12-9 in a fall-season exhibition at the Starfire Sports Campus in Tukwila, Washington. The game was the first NCAA DI Lacrosse game played in the Seattle and was a part of the first-ever Seatown Classic. Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan LaPlante (Fort Collins, Colo.) earned Seatown Classic Player of the Game honors as he finished with nine saves and seven goals allowed in 45 minutes of action while also scoring his first collegiate goal. The video of the goal was uploaded to YouTube over the weekend. Watch DU sophomore Goalie Ryan LaPlante’s Coast-to-Coast Goal against Maryland in the Seatown Classic in the video above. It would be nice to see more goalies cross midfield. Makes the game exciting!

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
