Brown University, Mercyhurst University, Emerson College & Savannah College of Art & Design Named 2015 IWLCA Merit Squads

Teams with the top GPAs for Division I, II, III & NAIA

The IWLCA has recognized three schools as earning Academic Merit Squad status for the 2015 season. Brown University, Mercyhurst University, Emerson Colleges and Savannah College of Art & Design represent Division I, II, III & NAIA respectively by virtue of having the top academic GPA for the season in their division. In addition, all teams that posted team GPAs of 3.0 or higher were recognized earlier as Academic Honor Squads.

In Division I, Brown University from the Ivy League repeats their 2014 IWLCA Academic Merit Squad honor with again being named the 2015 Academic Merit Squad for Division I. Brown University was also honored earlier as part of the 87 schools who were recognized as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads.

Mercyhurst University from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference boasted the highest team GPA in Division II and thus earned the Academic Merit Squad honor. 50 teams, including Mercyhurst University, were recognized earlier as IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Squads.

In Division III, Emerson Colleges of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference boasted the highest team GPA and thus earned the Academic Merit Squad honor. Emerson College was previously honored as one of 129 Division III schools that earned Academic Honor Squad honors.

Savannah College of Art & Design from the National Women’s Lacrosse League boasted the highest team GPA in the NAIA and thus earned the Academic Merit Squad honor.
